At Traditions Academy, we believe every child is unique and deserves to be known, celebrated, and supported in the ways that fit them best. In our small classes, students learn important skills and knowledge through clear, purposeful lessons; and then put what they’ve learned to work through hands-on projects and real-world challenges.
We partner closely with parents because we know learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends. It continues at home, around the dinner table, and out in the community. We value family time and make room for it. At the same time, we invite families to join us in meaningful ways; volunteering together at the senior center thrift store, cleaning up the Verde River, or gathering for simple evening events like cornhole and s’mores or board game night. These moments build the kind of community where children (and parents) feel they truly belong.
Our goal is simple: to help each student grow academically, personally, and as a member of their family and community while keeping learning joyful and rooted in real life.
At Traditions Academy, academic excellence grows from knowing each child well. Our teachers bring more than a decade of classroom experience and are highly qualified to guide students with skill and care. Because our classes are small, they can truly see where every student is strong and where they need extra support.
We often combine grade levels in the same classroom. This does not mean every student does the exact same work. Teachers carefully adjust lessons, assignments, and projects so the work matches each child’s current level. A student who needs more practice in a certain area receives targeted support and extra time. A student who is ready for a greater challenge receives work that stretches them. Strengths are noticed and celebrated; areas that need growth are addressed with patience and clear next steps.
Teachers differentiate in practical, everyday ways. They may offer different versions of a reading passage or math problem, adjust the amount of scaffolding a student receives, provide visual supports or hands-on materials, meet with students one-on-one or in small groups, or allow students to show what they know in different formats. The goal is always the same: the right level of challenge so each child can succeed and keep moving forward.
Group work is a regular and important part of learning. Working with peers helps students build real-world teamwork skills such as leadership, clear communication, listening, collaboration, problem-solving, and supporting one another. In our multi-age classrooms, students also have the chance to teach and learn from classmates at different grade levels. Older students deepen their own understanding by explaining concepts to younger ones, while younger students benefit from peer modeling. This process helps children take ownership of what they know and builds confidence in their ability to learn and help others.
On average, our students not only complete the full set of grade-level standards in a school year—they also make meaningful progress into the next grade’s material. This is not about overloading children or pushing them too fast. It is about giving them a strong foundation and a healthy head start so they enter the following year well-prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.

At Traditions Academy, we believe every Arizona family should be able to choose the educational environment that best fits their child, without financial barriers getting in the way. That is why we have structured our school so that tuition is fully covered by Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program, resulting in no out-of-pocket tuition costs for the families we serve.
Arizona’s ESA program allows parents to direct the state education dollars already allocated for their child toward approved educational expenses, including private school tuition. Because our annual tuition is $8,000, ESA funds cover the full cost for every enrolled student. We walk alongside families through the free application process and are happy to answer questions along the way.
The ESA program has become one of the most widely used school-choice options in the state. After Arizona expanded eligibility to every student in 2022, participation grew from roughly 12,000 students to more than 100,000. Official reports from the Arizona Department of Education show enrollment reaching 102,891 students by the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, with approximately 102,000 students already enrolled for the 2026–2027 school year. Families from a wide range of backgrounds are choosing the program because it gives them the flexibility to select the learning environment that works best for their child.
By combining full ESA coverage with small classes, experienced teachers, and individualized instruction, Traditions Academy works to make high-quality, personalized education accessible to Arizona families. Our goal is simple: remove financial obstacles so that a child’s opportunity to learn and thrive is not limited by family income.
